I am Sarah Clark, and I would like to welcome you to L’Hibou Holistic.
I am lucky to live in beautiful countryside in East Sussex with my soulmate and soon to be husband, Wayne and the most recent addition to our little family, Monkey the farm cat.
When I haven’t got my nose in a book, my passion is travel - obviously curtailed in recent months. I like to watch cricket and rugby when England are playing and any good crime drama always goes down well! I enjoy horse riding, practicing yoga and getting out into nature with my camera, amongst many other interests. During lockdown, I have taught myself to bake and enjoy making my favourite lavender and honey madeleines and I have also mastered sourdough bread!
I spent twelve years serving in the Metropolitan Police Force until my career was cut short with a diagnosis of PTSD. I tried conventional treatment over a number of years, but that only masked the numerous issues arising from the PTSD. I didn’t want to live with these symptoms hindering my life and so began to look around for alternative remedies to help me. In 2012, I was introduced to Jikiden Reiki and that was the beginning of the holistic path I now find myself on.
I was lucky to commence my learning with Tadao Yamaguchi and completed my training in Shoden and Okuden level. I use reiki regularly both on myself (I no longer take meds if I get a headache for example), my partner, our cat and have even used it on birds in the garden which are stunned having flown into our windows. Being attuned to reiki opened my eyes to other holistic modalities, which led me to use flower essences.
I first came across the Australian Bush Flower Essences (ABFE), about seven years ago whilst travelling in Australia, when I was suddenly gripped with fear at the thought of the long flight home. I happened upon a bottle of Travel essence which is a combination flower remedy aimed at supporting you during the stresses and strains of modern day travel. I took the essence as prescribed and found anxiety surrounding the flight disappeared. I tried other essences for other issues and realised how gently and easily they worked but I wanted to know more. Having completed various training courses with ABFE, I am now a qualified Flower Essence Practitioner as well as a Jikiden Reiki Practitioner.
